Reports To: DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist other Transportation Supervisors in directing, monitoring and supporting all bus movements, operator practices and performance. Provides company presence in the field, insure a high level of safe, courteous, professional driving and passenger handling.
- Successful applicant must be available to work varied and rotating shift schedule that will include both day, evening and weekend hours to include Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures. Successful applicant is required to learn specific duties that are assigned to each shift. Shifts are rotated as needed and/or required with other supervisors.
- Provides after hours assistance to riders, drivers, and staff to ensure resolution of problems to comply with a no-strand ADA regulation.
- Evaluates daily route schedules and recommends paratransit service modifications to increase efficiencies in grouping paratransit customers on regular services.
- Skilled in safe driving practices and good public relations.
- Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written including presentation abilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective and cooperative working relationship with co-workers, supervisors, other company employees, city officials and the general public using courtesy, tact, and good judgment.
- Ability to deal with difficult situations and understand the views and concerns of others.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Class A or B Commercial License w/ a Class B "63" Passenger Endorsement

SporTran
Shreveport Transit Management, Inc. operates the SporTran public transit system for Shreveport and Bossier City. We provide fixed route bus service and ADA paratransit service through our LiftLine brand. Buses and vans operate from approximately 5:00am to 1:30am Monday-Saturday and from 8:00am to 5pm on Sundays. Our maintenance facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
