About SAGE PREP
At SAGE PREP, we believe young children are capable of more than the world often expects of them. Our classrooms honor learning through play, and then we go further: journal writing, rich academic vocabulary, and a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy. We are looking for an Assistant Campus Director who will help carry that vision into every classroom, every family conversation, and every staff meeting.
Who You Are
First and foremost, you love children. You light up around them, and you believe every scholar deserves a joyful, rigorous start. You are a vibrant, hands-on leader who brings energy into the building and keeps it there. You are flexible by nature: you shift gears easily, step in wherever you are needed, and keep a positive attitude when the day takes an unexpected turn. You take initiative, think ahead, and show up with solutions instead of excuses.
You have been in the classroom yourself, so you lead with credibility. You communicate clearly in person and in writing, you are comfortable greeting and touring prospective families, and you know that excellent customer service is part of excellent education.
What You’ll Do
- Partner closely with the Campus Director to lead daily operations and serve as the campus leader in the Director’s absence
- Support, coach, and supervise teacher-leaders and support staff
- Help build programs and learning plans that meet state and federal guidelines and exceed family expectations
- Review lesson plans and support teacher-leaders in maintaining instructional excellence
- Conduct classroom observations and share meaningful feedback
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding, including background checks and fingerprinting
- Help plan and facilitate staff trainings and professional development
- Step into classrooms as needed to maintain ratios and support scholars
- Communicate policies clearly and consistently to staff and families
- Meet with families and staff to discuss scholar progress
- Contribute to family newsletters and campus communications
- Give tours and build relationships that attract new families to SAGE PREP
- Ensure facilities and materials are clean, safe, and maintained to state and center standards
What You Bring
Required
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
- A genuine love for children
- Flexibility and a willingness to step in wherever needed
- Prior classroom teaching experience
- Strong understanding of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for early learning settings
- Excellent communication, coaching, and customer service skills
- Ability to partner with families and community members for the benefit of every scholar
- Current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification
Preferred
- Completion of 40 hours of director’s training
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience in a Quality Rated program
- Experience in a CACFP setting
