SUMMARY
The Drop-In Floater is responsible for ensuring a safe and welcoming drop-in child care environment for children. The Floater will be responsible for ensuring registration is complete and accurate and that positive interactions are provided with all parties. The floater is responsible for assisting in creating and supporting a positive, high-quality early learning environment and the overall educational emphasis of the classroom in alignment with Texas Minimum Standards Outcome Framework; Birth to 10 years old.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Actively supervise and ensure the health, well-being, and safety of children.
● Implement appropriate age activities and routines.
● Partner and effectively communicate with children, families, and staff.
● Ability to adhere to Center for Transforming Lives policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements (including, but not exclusively, Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers).
● Demonstrate professionalism in decision-making and communication.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
● Child Development Associate Credential preferred (age-specific, or all level)
● One year of experience of working directly with children in a child care setting is preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
· Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills & be able to interact professionally with adults.
· Have a working knowledge of human behavior and early childhood education. Ability to incorporate creativity within classroom learning experiences.
· Computer proficiency.
· Must pass a pre-employment and/or periodic physical examination, TB skin test, and a complete background check every 24 months.
· Ability to communicate a basic understanding of child development (age-appropriately).

This is a part-time position. The Drop-In program helps support agency-wide business hour, evening, and weekend programing. This position will support evening events and programs that may go until 9pm. After-hours and weekend hours will be required and communicated in a timely manner. The part-time floater will have a 30 min. lunch break. The Drop-In floater position will work 20 hours a week.
Compensation: $19.00 per hour
