Researcher Physician Psychiatrist (MD/DO)
Location: Irvine CA (Hybrid: 4 days in-office, up to 1 day remote)
Schedule: Full-time, 5 days per week

About the Role
The Researcher Physician Psychiatrist will serve as a senior clinical investigator within a growing portfolio of our research studies. This individual will play a central leadership role across studies spanning multiple psychiatric indications, contributing to execution and patient oversight of pharmaceutical sponsored trials with a potential for investigator-led trials in the future. The position includes responsibilities as sub-Principal Investigator on active studies, with clear opportunities to advance into Principal Investigator roles for upcoming trials. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including study coordinators, sub-investigators, raters, and regulatory staff, while ensuring scientific rigor, participant safety, and compliance with industry and institutional requirements.
This role is well suited for a physician-scientist seeking to be involved with high-impact psychiatric research in an outpatient setting. The role is initially planned for 50% research and 50% clinical with flexibility pending the candidate’s experience and interests. For clinical work, the Psychiatrist will take on key duties to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients through evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and treatment planning. Working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team, you will help patients access the resources and support they need to improve mental health and overall well-being. Serving as a key leader of the clinical office, you will also play a key role in supporting your clinical team through education and supervision (protected time included) to ensure patients receive holistic support.
Clinical Responsibilities
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and holistic treatments for patients via in-person and via telehealth.
• Supervise and collaborate with interdisciplinary providers (NPs, PAs, therapists)—protected time included
• Opportunities to participate in interventional psychiatry service and clinical research pipelines.
• Participate in crisis intervention and emergency care as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all regulatory standards.
Qualifications
• Completion of a Psychiatry Residency Program
• Current and valid California medical license, NPI, and DEA registration
• No disciplinary action or license restriction
• Board Certification (preferred) / Board Eligible
• At least 2 years of independent psychiatric experience (preferred)

Total Compensation Range is $360,000–$541,000
