Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and portfolio mortgage loans. 
  • Review loan files for completeness and accuracy. 
  • Collect and verify required documentation from borrowers, loan officers, employers, title companies, insurance agents, and other third parties. 
  • Analyze income, assets, credit, and collateral documentation to ensure investor eligibility. 
  • Clear underwriting conditions and obtain final approval for closing. 
  • Prepare loan files for closing in compliance with investor and regulatory requirements. 
  • Coordinate closing schedules with borrowers, loan officers, title companies, attorneys, and real estate agents. 
  • Review Closing Disclosures (CDs) and ensure compliance with TRID timing requirements. 
  • Verify loan terms, fees, and funding conditions prior to closing. 
  • Ensure loans meet agency and investor guidelines, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA, and internal policies. 
  • Maintain communication with borrowers and business partners regarding loan status. 
  • Order and review title work, homeowners’ insurance, appraisals, flood certifications, and other required documentation. 
  • Resolve documentation discrepancies and closing issues in a timely manner. 
  • Maintain accurate loan records within the Loan Origination System (LOS). 
  • Meet established production, quality, and service-level expectations. 
  • Participate in audits and quality control reviews as needed. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • 2+ years of mortgage processing, closing, or underwriting support experience preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of: 
    • Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA lending 
    • Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines 
    • TRID, RESPA, HMDA, ECOA, and other mortgage regulations 
  • Experience with Loan Origination Systems (Calyx/Point preferred but no required)
  • Strong understanding of mortgage documentation and closing procedures. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple loans simultaneously while meeting deadlines. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
