Office Associate

Job Purpose & Position Overview:
Incumbent supports the Higher Education Director and assists with current and future Higher Education students, Johnson O’Malley (JOM) Program, the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), as well as scheduled activities and events.
Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values.
- Answers the telephone, relays calls and messages
- Greets visitors daily
- Files, makes copies, uses scanner/fax machine
- Daily tasks on the desktop computer, including emails
- Assists with scholarship award letters as needed
- Assists with Intacct requests when Higher Education Director is not present
- Check/Drop off mail daily, other errands as needed
- Transport in program vehicle(s) when necessary
- Assists with preparing and attending meetings and activities/events

Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Excellent public relation skills.
- Punctual, meticulous and reliable.
- Must maintain a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
- Clerical experience in filing, typing and basic knowledge of computer word processing, spreadsheets, forms and database files systems.
- Part-Time 20 hours per week.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain valid insurance, and be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance policy.

Training Requirements:
- Must be willing to attend meetings and training as requested.
Physical Requirements:
- Normal to light office work which includes the ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.
- While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
Mental Requirements:
- Reading, writing, calculating
- Above average social interaction skills
- Reasoning/Analysis
- Ability to work as part of a team and/or with minimal to no supervision.
Language Requirements:
- Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
- Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.
Certificates, Licenses & registrations:
- All applicants will comply with 45 CFR 1301, Subpart D, Section 1301.31, C and D, which require all prospective employees to sign a declaration prior to employment regarding all arrests and convictions of child abuse or violent felonies and to comply with PL 101-630 and PL 101-637 regarding criminal records check.
