Food Distribution Director

Job Purpose & Position Overview
It is the responsibility of the Director to oversee and direct all activities pertaining to the Food Distribution Program on the Winnebago Reservation in accordance with the USDA and FNS Federal regulations.
Work involves responsibility for planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of the Winnebago Food Distribution Program, including but not limited to, certification, procurement, storage and protection, inventory control, and distribution. Work is performed under the general direction of the Chief Administrative Officer, and in accordance with Winnebago Tribe Policies and procedures applicable to specific areas of program activity. Work is reviewed through program audit, consultations, reporting, and data for overall program effectiveness and efficiency.
Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values.
- Direct and oversee day-to-day operation ensuring program compliance with all application laws and regulations.
- Ensure all product ordering is completed accurately and timely and the central warehouse is adequately stocked to meet participant demand, oversee the management of inventory.
- Formulates and works within annual budget and maintains all records for and accurate account of all program finances.
- Ensure strict maintenance and upkeep of all participants files and information in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Recruit, hire, and supervise staff of 6-10, including appropriate training and development needs are addressed.
- Create and maintain an operational and distribution schedule that meets the need and demand of the participant base; oversee the distribution center, and warehouse.
- Prepares and submits all required reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure coordination and liaising with all relevant local and surrounding agencies as they relate to the successful operation and compliance of the program, oversee the supply chain workflows.
- Prepare and assist in submittal of annual funding applications in cooperation with the Planning Department to ensure adequate funding and continuation of the program.
- Implement processes that fosters excellent customer service and promotes participant satisfaction.
- Attend required meetings, seminars, conferences as requested and/or required.
- Direct and oversee all daily and monthly reporting activities to ensure sound reconciliation of physical and perpetual inventory.

Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required
- Must be knowledgeable of United States Department of Agriculture, also of the Food &Nutrition Service regulations.
- Must possess excellent computer skills.
- Must have documented experience in various food distribution, retail, inventory, or related software programs.
- Must have documented experience in leadership and supervisory level positions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Tribe’s policy.
- Must be able to adhere to strict confidentiality principles.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise a staff of 6-10, ensuring appropriate training and development needs are addressed.
Training Requirements:
- Must be willing and able to engage in employee training and development and to sign an educational plan.
Physical Requirements:
- Normal to light office work which includes the ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.
- While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
Mental Requirements:
- Reading, writing, calculating

- Works with minimal to no supervision
Language Requirements:
- Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
- Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.
Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:
