We are currently seeking a Dental Hygienist to join our team. 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide prophylactic services for patients assigned to our preventive program, including:
    • securing appropriate radiographs
    • scaling and polishing teeth
    • providing proper oral hygiene instructions and dietary counseling
    • may also provide anti-smoking counseling
    • topical fluoride treatments
    • preliminary examinations for caries and other deleterious dental conditions
    • sealants
  • Maintain regular patients on an appropriate recall schedule.  
  • As part of the provision of routine prophylactic services, must manage some patients who are extremely apprehensive, severely handicapped or mentally impaired.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate actively in department Quality Assurance process.
  • Provide oral health instruction at off-site schools and health fairs.
  • Provide dental assessments, sealants and fluoride treatments in off-site PFS program.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
  • Requires an associate degree in dental hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene program. 
  • Must have current RDH license issued by the State of Michigan.
  • Current CPR, BLS, or ACLS certification required.
  • Two years dental hygiene work experience required. Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of EDR required, Dentrix experience preferred.
  • Basic skill level required: Microsoft Word, Outlook, and digital radiographs.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, adolescents, parents, community agencies, school staff, leadership, staff, and visitors.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and a minimum insurance coverage or available transportation to travel for the purposes of required Health Center business.
