Job Summary
Bartenders play a crucial role in delivering the exceptional guest experience that is central to Goodstone's mission. This dual role supports Events and the Restaurant, providing beverage service across weddings, private functions, and the daily dining experience at Goodstone. Based on extensive knowledge of menu and beverage options, Bartenders prepare and serve beverages for bar, lounge, restaurants, and event guests according to established recipes and presentation guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Have a working knowledge of wine, wine presentation, and food pairing.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Provide beverage service for event guests and restaurant diners, adjusting style and pace to match the setting.
- Total and present checks, maintain the bar top and back bar area clean and organized.
- Follow all sanitation, food handling, and liquor laws and regulations.
- Partner with servers, banquet staff, and other team members to ensure every guest receives exceptional service and hospitality.
- Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and notify management of any shortages.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Two or more years as a Bartender, with extensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages, cocktails, and wine.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have an understanding of state and local liquor laws.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hospitality experience: 2+ years.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe, sanitary condition.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are those an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently expected to stand for long periods, walk, climb stairs comfortably, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The role also requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
