GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of First Naples.
  • Assists the Tech Arts Pastor to work toward excellence in all areas of the ministry.
 

SPECIFIC LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintenance, upgrades and improvements to all equipment on campus.
  • Running events that require AVL support
  • Attending meetings for Tech Arts and contributing to the discussions we have.
  • Educational and possible certifications for AVL specific technologies (i.e. Dante Certification)
  • Load in and out of stage equipment for events
  • Load in and out of Summer Camp AVL equipment
  • Inventory of Tech Arts equipment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in a field related to Audio Engineering, Technical Theatre, Broadcast Production, Worship Arts, or a similar discipline. Hands-on experience with AVL systems in a church, school, or live event environment is preferred. Familiarity with audio mixing, stage lighting, and video systems is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Strong communication skills are essential to coordinate with ministry leaders, volunteers, and technical staff. The individual should be able to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical team members and contribute meaningfully in team meetings and planning discussions.

COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Working knowledge of audio, video, and lighting systems is required. Experience with platforms like Dante, ProPresenter, digital mixing consoles (e.g., Behringer, Allen & Heath), and lighting control systems is preferred. Familiarity with production software, inventory management tools, and computer-based troubleshooting is a plus. Training and certification opportunities (e.g., Dante Level 1) may be included during the internship.

REASONING ABILITY

The individual must be able to troubleshoot AVL issues in real time, adapt to changes during live events, and contribute to the ongoing improvement and maintenance of technical systems. A problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment are key to success.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This position involves hands-on work with AVL equipment, including lifting, loading, and setting up gear for services, events, and off-site camps. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Tasks may include climbing ladders, crawling under stages, and working in various indoor and outdoor environments. Reasonable accommodations may be made to support those with disabilities.
