SUMMARY
The purpose of the After School Care Instructor is to oversee the daily function of the First Naples Aftercare Program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains a calm, safe environment, for students during after school hours. Additional work hours may be available on school in-service days and during the summer months.
- At all times is supervising the children.
- Keeps daily classroom attendance records.
- Refrains from using cell phones/electronic devices when on duty.
- Provides and helps maintain appropriate outdoor and indoor activities and equipment.
- Ability to interact with various ages of students, from Pre-Kindergarten-5th grade.
- Provides a time when students may work on homework and assists whenever possible.
- Provides a time for snack.
- Adheres to the rules and regulations set forth by First Naples in the area of playground usage, classroom usage, and expectant student behavior.
- Reports any discipline issues to the proper department Director of the Preschool Ministry.
- Keeps accurate records of hours worked on the appropriate payroll system.
- Cleans toys and all surfaces with proper disinfectant spray/wipes daily, at the end of the day..
- Follow all procedures for room preparation in the Ministry Leader Handbook.
- Interacts with parents in a positive, pleasant manner.
- Attends any required training determined by the director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Actively attends First Naples Worship Service.
- Currently is a sophomore or higher in school.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to assertively set rules and boundaries.
- Must demonstrate a desire to work with children.
