Core Responsibilities:
  • Produce air-set molds that determine final casting shapes
  • Operate key equipment: fork truck, Palmer Mixers, mold release sprayers, overhead/jib cranes, propane torch
  • Maintain clean, organized work area
  • Work mandatory overtime as needed
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required protective equipment
 
Career Progression:
Step C (90-day probation):
  • Demonstrate punctuality and good work habits
  • Follow instructions and maintain quality standards
  • Work cooperatively with team members
  • Meet physical requirements (lifting, bending, manual dexterity)
  • Perform equipment inspections
  • Understand basic molding terminology
  • Follow Steeltech part numbering system
 
Step B:
  • Master all Step C requirements
  • Read and follow molding specifications
  • Perform mold finishing/repair (burning, painting, core setting)
 
Step A:
  • Master all Step B requirements
  • Operate lift truck throughout facility
  • Train new employees
  • Cover reclaimer operator duties
  • Monitor mold wash viscosity
  • Produce no-bake cores
 
Advancement requires:
  • 90 days minimum at current level
  • Demonstrated proficiency
  • Good attendance record
Compensation: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
