The Student Production & Programming Director leads the creative and strategic direction of all Preston Trail Student Ministry (PTSM) environments for grades 6-12. This role oversees the planning, design, and execution of services and events that help students find and follow Jesus, ensuring every experience is engaging, cohesive, and distraction-free. 
Partnering with the Student Tech Coordinator, this role focuses on programming, creative development, and volunteer culture, empowering both adult and student teams to lead and serve with excellence. 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Programming & Service Design 
  • Lead the planning, design, and creative direction of weekly PTSM services in partnership with the Student Pastor and teaching team. 
  • Create and maintain service flow in Planning Center and ProPresenter. 
  • Ensure all service elements (worship, teaching, stories, hosting, transitions) connect seamlessly and clearly support the ministry vision. 
  • Provide creative oversight for major student events (High Def, Milestones, etc.). 
  • Evaluate weekly programming for clarity, engagement, and impact. 
Creative Direction 
  • Lead creative ideation and content development in collaboration with the PTSM team. 
  • Oversee the creation of video, visual, and storytelling elements that strengthen connection and engagement with students. 
  • Manage timelines and deliverables for creative projects to ensure excellence and consistency. 
  • Partner with the central Production Team to ensure creative alignment and technical achievability. 
Volunteer Development & Culture 
  • Recruit, shepherd, and develop adult and student volunteers serving as hosts, producers, stage managers, and service leaders. 
  • Create a leadership pathway that equips students to lead from the stage and behind the scenes. 
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and encouragement to volunteers, cultivating a fun, faith-filled, and high-performing team culture. 
  • Collaborate closely with the Student Tech Coordinator to ensure tech volunteers are supported, equipped, and spiritually cared for. 
Systems & Collaboration 
  • Partner with the Student Tech Coordinator to ensure smooth execution of weekly services and events. 
  • Oversee the systems and processes that ensure consistent quality and alignment across all production and programming elements. 
  • Run proposed changes to systems or workflows through the Student Pastor to maintain alignment across Next Gen. 
  • Participate in Student Ministry and Next Gen key meetings and events. 
QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Proven ability to lead, recruit, and develop volunteers and leaders with excellence and care

  • Highly collaborative with strong relational and emotional maturity. 
  • Experienced in production, programming, and creative direction (ProPresenter, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar tools). 
  • Skilled in systems thinking—able to translate vision into actionable, repeatable processes. 
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities with attention to detail and follow-through. 
  • Able to balance creative leadership with operational strategy and cross-team alignment. 
  • College degree preferred.
