JOB SUMMARY
- Work as a member of senior management to define the human resources goals and objectives and ensure that all policies of the Board of Directors related to human resources are properly implemented and monitored.
- Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources.
- Carry out all human resources functions in accordance with all laws, rules, and regulations as well as sound ethical, business, and fiscal principles.
- Make recommendations to the management team concerning overall corporate objectives and policy as they relate to human resources.
- Supervise directly or through delegation the human resources staff to oversee organizational development. Lead the human resources team in prioritizing tasks, setting expectations, and delivering quality service to employees, while creating a positive work environment founded on respect and accountability.
- Develop, implement, administer, and coordinate specific policies, procedures, and directives.
- Develop and oversee employee relations efforts, including the publication of a periodic employee newsletter.
- Effectively communicate and disseminate HR messages and Evergreen information across multiple platforms.
- Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Act as a senior-level advisor on human resources to other executives and all levels of employees throughout the organization. Act as a professional role model both internally and externally for the organization.
- Oversees all employee benefit programs directly or through delegation.
- Ensure the preparation and filing of all required reports and documentation required to assure compliance with regulations issued by related governmental agencies.
- Approve the discharge of employees.
- Defend and/or represent the organization in all human resource or other related legal or quasi-legal proceedings.
- Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines designed to avoid or minimize potential risk within the related industry.
- Keep abreast of all changes in regulatory laws, policies, procedures, and standards, and initiate the process of updating departments through inter-office communication and in-services in preparation for anticipated effects.
- Oversee the development and implementation of innovative and constructive alternatives to sub-standard processes to bring them into compliance.
- Provide consultation to department managers and executive staff members regarding respective compliance and quality issues related to human resources, including analysis and plan of correction of performance deficits.
- Exercise sound judgment in the use of information obtained during the course of assigned duties to ensure that confidential information is not utilized to the detriment of the organization.
- Research and obtain factual evidence to support recommendations/solutions regarding operational control deficiencies.
- Facilitate professional development and training for the human resources team.
- Have periodic audits of all functions, programs, and departments performed to detect deficiencies and identify areas needing improvement.
- Ensure team building, motivational training opportunities, and management/leadership development of employees across the organization.
- Provide the highest level of investment in employees.
- Evaluate and review all policies, procedures, employee handbook, and related employment items annually and update as needed.
- Develop and maintain the Human Resources departmental budget.
- Create, implement, and maintain a salary administration and performance evaluation program for the whole organization.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management and Administration, Leadership, Legal, Human Services, or related field required. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Human Resources field, including leadership experience.
- SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications as well as Google applications. Aptitude to learn other software programs as required for this position.
- Occasionally travels.
- Constantly moves about to coordinate work.
- Regularly works in a fast-paced environment with multiple task deadlines.
- Regularly moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally exposed to viruses and infectious conditions.
- Constantly alert and observant during working hours.
- Will supervise.
- Innovative and creative self-starter, with the ability to devise solutions to complex problems and to implement those solutions hands-on.
- Professionally represent Evergreen in appearance and speech.
- May be required to attend seminars or job-related training courses.
- Must have understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Must have the ability to maintain good working relationships with Evergreen staff and with contacts from other agencies or entities.
- Must be able to prioritize work tasks.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace.
- Aptitude to learn other software programs as required for this position.
- Must have a good driving record that meets the minimum requirements for Evergreen and reliable transportation.
- Must pass drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must be able to work some evenings when required.
