Medical Surgical
- Administer medications and infusion therapy.
- Perform physical and psychosocial re-assessments.
- Participate in the daily care of patients as planned & directed by the RN.
- Actively participates in the multi-disciplinary team conference and collaborates with other health team members to meet patients educational and discharge planning needs.
- Appropriately delegates tasks to the nursing attendant.
- Implement direct patient care and treatments.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of planned interventions in relation to patient responses and the attainment of expected outcomes. Document and communicate actions to maintain continuity among the nursing team.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, physicians, patients, families, and other health care team members. Actively participates in bedside report, communicates in SBAR format for all handoff/handover reports and changes in patient’s status to the RN. Follow the chain of command.
- Reinforce patient education as planned, directed, and initiated by the RN and/or provider. Evaluates effectiveness of patient education. Promotes patients' independence by reinforcing teaching to ensure that patients and families understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
- Nursing care is provided in an organized, timely, safe, cost-effective manner.
- Participates in Quality Monitoring/Performance Improvement. Incorporates Evidence Based practices into daily care.
- Graduate of a practical nursing education program (accredited preferred) or has successfully completed courses, equivalent to practical nursing education in a professional nursing program and were qualified for NCLEX-PN based on practical nursing equivalency (PNEQ), approved by the FL Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience or completion of Parrish Healthcare’s Nurse Residency Experience.
- State of Florida LPN License required
- BLS through the American Heart Association required
- NIH Stroke Scale required within 6 months of hire
- ACLS or PALS or NRP through the American Heart Association preferred
- Florida Board of Nursing IV Certification required
