POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Our Program Coordinators intentionally foster a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing while implementing high quality Youth Development Programs. This position is for entry level front line supervision, perfect for those interested in building experience in administrative competencies, developing program curriculum and for those who want to build leadership skills both in working with children as well as guiding and coaching staff. Program Coordinator professionals assist with providing quality experiences for youth that focus on the core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring of the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Supervise program leads and program assistants in youth development program settings including daily operations, curriculum implementation, observations, program creation, promotion, planning, and delivery.
2. Assure that the staff and programs are fulfilling all requirements set by local, state, federal, and other program standards necessary to operate a fully functional and DHS-licensed childcare program.
3. Ensures program spaces are neat, orderly, and free from all safety impediments.
4. Assist program director with ensuring Department of Human Services and billing-related submissions, sign in/out sheets and incidents/accidents reports are submitted in a timely and accurate manner.
5. Make ongoing, systematic observations of children and staff during program activities and assist with evaluation of each child. Nurture children through purposeful programming to build achievement, belonging and relationships.
6. Follows all procedures and standards. Observe youth programs and modeling best practices for staff. 7. Assist program director with facilitating staff meetings and in-service trainings.
8. Assist program director with maintaining up to date and compliant child records, staff records, and facility inspection records.
9. Assist program director with managing weekly staff schedules and coverage for staff.
10. Assist program director with recruitment, staff onboarding, and ongoing staff development.
11. Cultivate positive relationships, conduct parent conferences, and maintain effective communication with parents. Serve as primary liaison between parents and the YMCA.
12. Maintain program and equipment.
13. Maintain required program records.
14. Attend and participate in campaign and fundraising efforts facilitated by the YMCA, family nights, program activities, after-hours staff meetings, staff training, and field related professional conferences. 15. Must exemplify appropriate behavior and act as a role model for participants showing the core values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
16. Perform other duties, as necessary, to assure excellent operation of the YMCA youth development programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
● Associate's degree or higher in related field (Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred) ● Experience facilitating youth development programs, including such areas as early learning development setting, camp, before/after school programs, and/or enrichment programs for school-age youth. ● Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate program activities. Possess personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
● Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments
of the community.
● CPR/First Aid/AED, Bloodborne Pathogens certification, Mandatory Reporter/Child Abuse Prevention certifications, and other required trainings within 30/60/90 days of hire date.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
● The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. WAGES & BENEFITS:
Wage Range: $13 - $15/hour
Paid Time Off: During your first year you will have 10 Annual PTO Days, accrued at the rate of 5 hours per pay period (max of 80 hours may be accrued annually).
Retirement: Upon being vested (after 2 years of YMCA employment with 1,000 hours worked in each of those two years), the Y will make contributions into the YMCA Retirement Fund Plan at the rate of 8%, fully paid by the Y, which requires a 4% match from the employee. You can maximize your retirement savings by opening a 403(b) Smart Account, a voluntary tax-deferred savings account with the YMCA Retirement Fund.
Health & Dental Insurance: After 30 days of regular full-time employment, you are eligible for participation in the YMCA’s group health and dental insurance plans*.

Compensation: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
