TITLE:  On-Call Public Safety Officer
DEPARTMENT: PSO

HOURS: Part-Time (On-call)

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

The Father’s House is seeking a reliable and dedicated On-Call Church Public Safety Officer (PSO) with a current CA BSIS Guard Card to join our team. The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain a safe and secure environment for all members, visitors, and staff of the church. The PSO will work closely with the church leadership and other staff members to provide a secure and welcoming environment. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS (at time of hire)

  • Must possess a current CA BSIS Guard Card 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • At least 1 year of experience in a security-related role, preferably in a church or other religious institution 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations 
  • Basic knowledge of security and emergency procedures 
  •  Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety and security of all church members, staff, and visitors. 
  • Conduct regular patrols of the church property to deter criminal activity and identify any potential security risks. 
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fires, and other incidents. Provide a visible and approachable presence to deter potential threats and create a welcoming environment for church members and visitors. 
  • Monitor and control access to the church property and buildings, including parking lots and other areas. 
  • Conduct regular inspections of the church property and identify any maintenance or repair issues that may pose a security risk. 
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of incidents, patrols, and other relevant information. 
  • Communicate effectively with church staff and leadership, as well as local law enforcement, in the event of an emergency or security threat. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.  
 
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Report to the church leadership and work closely with other TFH staff members. 
 
Compensación: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
