- Ability to master the highest levels of operational proficiency with company refuse trucks.
- Expertly communicate value proposition of company products to potential customers, including field level operators.
- Execute successful product demonstrations in real-world solid waste collection operation environments through self-operation of products or via training of third-party operators of company products.
- Collect, track, and analyze operational data related to company and competitor products, providing feedback to the company’s engineering and sales teams.
- Coordinates transportation of demonstrator vehicles between customer locations with the Transportation Department.
- Works in conjunction with sales and product teams to develop and specify new demonstrator vehicle builds.
- Assists with developing and executing successful product demonstrator program that aligns with territory, and national/key account sales business plan.
- Develop and expand our presence with existing and new products offerings with existing and prospective customers.
- Provides market input regarding existing products and training tools to ensure that New Way remains a leader within the industry.
- Regularly track progress on sales activities as well as execute the initiatives/actions as established.
- Provide input to and assists marketing team with development of product training tools, and other essential product related marketing and communication materials.
- Participate in product sales presentations to end users in conjunction with sales team and distributors.
- Plan regular visits to distributors and independent sales representatives in the territory to maintain current business and develop new business through product training initiatives.
- Supports local, regional and national trade shows through attendance, customer interaction and support.
- Indirectly assist with the management of major and critical developing client accounts.
- Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.
- Actively engage, cultivate, and assist with managing sales relationships to ensure coverage surrounding programs, special events, public announcements, and other projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or equivalent experience in solid waste or related industry is required.
- A minimum of five years’ sales, management, equipment training, solid waste operations, or similar operational experience. A combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Ability to travel up to 70% with a valid class B, commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL) and air brake endorsement.
- Controls expenses by exercising good judgement related to business.
- Excellent Written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to successfully communicate, build rapport, and effectively cascade company’s message throughout various levels of customer organizations.
- Superior self-management, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
- Technical, industrial or automotive problem-solving related experience.
- Proven track record of working successfully and independently in a sales role.
- Experience forecasting sales and building a customer base.

- Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs and evaluate risks involved.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of operating heavy equipment, including monitoring the activities of other employees, contractors, and members of the public.
