We are currently seeking a motivated Hydraulics Technician to join our New Way team at our Carroll, IA location. The Hydraulics Technician will install hydraulic elements to the body of garbage trucks. This person will assemble, mount, and plumb hydraulic components to the fabricated body of garbage trucks. 
 
   Your Role in Our Mission: 
  • Assemble hydraulic components in an efficient manner to maximize production and minimize waste. 
  • Maintains accuracy of products by following work orders. 
  • Mount and plumb hydraulic components to the fabricated product. 
  • Maintain/produce a level of inventory that will minimize production delays. 
  • Inspects own work for leaks and other problems and makes corrections as needed. 
  • Operate a forklift to move around subassemblies. 
To Perform this Job Successfully:
  • 1 year(s) experience preferred in using hand and power tools. 
  • Mechanical knowledge related to operating hose fitting machine.
  • Understand hydraulics including pumps, valves, cylinders, and plumbing of components.
  • Forklift and crane experience preferred.
  • Math skills include fractions and angles.
  • Good communication.
  • Read tape measure and angle finder.
  • Clean and maintain an orderly work area.
  • Flare and bend hydraulic tubes.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner and report hazards associated with the equipment or its operation to the Safety Department and Maintenance Department.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance in accordance with company attendance policies.
