Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, self-starting, creative, and service-oriented Cafeteria Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead daily food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety, and serve.
Major Responsibilities:
· Prepare and oversee the preparation of daily meals for students and staff
· Ensure food quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met
· Collaborate with the Food Service Director on menu and special events
· Supervise kitchen staff and student workers
· Manage inventory and rotation, and minimize waste
· Create a welcoming and respectful environment consistent with Christian hospitality
Qualifications:
· Faith, service and lifestyle that meets University expectations (See IPM sections: “Statement of Core Values,” “Doctrinal Statement,” “Christian Standards,” “Lifestyle Standard.”)
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or institutional food service
· Strong leadership and communication skills
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
· Commitment to the mission and values of a Christian educational institution
· Be able to pass a background check
· Preferred: ServSafe Certification
