Job Title: Accountant
FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Full-time, 40 hours/week 
Shift: Monday -Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00 PM 
Supervisor: Director of Finance & Accounting 
Location: Pottstown, PA

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
YW3CA is seeking an Accountant to support the administration of YW3CA’s government grants within the finance department. The Accountant will be responsible for financial and administration of federal, state, and local government grant programs while serving as the day-to-day point of contact for Government Grant Fiscal Administrators and internal stakeholders. This includes reviewing grant documents for fiscal and administration requirements, providing guidance to program directors regarding fiscal and compliance requirements, and managing a government grant budget and grant fiscal reporting. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is energetic, organized, and self-motivated, eager to join our fast-paced finance department. The Accountant will serve as a leader of the organization’s government grant financial compliance and as a positive contributing member of the organization’s finance team. 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (Includes, But Not Limited to): 
  • Maintain the general ledger and monitor entries made by the AR/AP Accountant
  • Reconciliation for all ledger accounts monthly
  • Enter and maintain departmental budgets
  • Communicate on a regular basis with departments about their budgets
  • Maintain direct responsibility for all fiscal and accounting functions associated with the contract between the YW3CA and government funders.
  • Reviews all expenditures for government grants to ensure compliance with YW3CA and government procurement requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with requirements such as time and effort reporting, financial & progress reporting.
  • Completes timely journal entries as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of position expectations.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE POSITION 
  • Experience working with Sage Intacct.
  • Understanding YWCA’s mission, goals, and objectives and ability to work independently with a high level of energy and contribute as part of a larger team.
  • Experience performing a wide range of duties directly related to grant management activities.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with many different internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding principles, theories, and practices of budget management.
  • Highly organized results-oriented thinker with ability to implement processes independently.
  • Proactive attitude and initiative.
  • Outstanding written and spoken communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver under pressure.
  • Microsoft office suite experience required.
 Education & Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (required) or equivalent work experience commensurate with the proven ability to perform the above stated duties.
  • Three (3) years’ experience working with federal grant administration.
  • Three (3) years’ experience accounting knowledge.
Compensation: $24.00 per hour
