We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sales professional to represent Dinges Fire Company in territory covering half the state of Michigan, to sell cutting-edge quality fire apparatus. In this role, you will be a road warrior, building and nurturing relationships with fire departments, municipalities, and emergency service providers across the designated territory, helping them find an apparatus solution that best suits their operational needs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong sales skills, a deep understanding of the emergency services industry, and a commitment to our customers.
Essential Duties:
- Demonstrate and communicate product specifications and their benefits to customers
- Demonstrate fire apparatus and assist prospective accounts to select those that best suit their needs
- Support customers from start-to-delivery and throughout the customer lifecycle
- Know and follow a defined sales process
- Employ a “consultative selling” approach to identify and manage customer needs and expectations gaining a personal relationship
- Understand the competition to maintain the Dingess Fire Company competitive advantage
- Maintain good customer relations; intervene to solve problems and disputes
- Use our proprietary sales portal to track customer activity
- Maintain current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new apparatus
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Business, Sales, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ Sales experience in direct or related industry
- Working knowledge of CRM
- Must be highly motivated, results-oriented and self-starter
- Excellent skills in communication, interpersonal, organizational and attention to detail
- Proficient usage of MS Office Suite and the ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Maintain and obtain a class B CDL with a current DOT physical. (For moving apparatus around)
ADA Requirements:
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently
- Occasional repetitive motion and grasping; climbing to reach areas on equipment
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently
- Typically sits, grasp items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
- Travel by car frequently, by air occasionally
