We are seeking a Janitor to join our Maintenance Division. 

This person will be responsible for performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that buildings and surrounding areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained. The Janitor will carry out cleaning duties in an efficient, organized, and timely manner, ensuring that all areas meet hygiene and cleanliness standards. 

Typical Functions: 

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, hallways, restrooms, and other areas.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, including furniture, countertops, and windowsills.
  • Clean restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
  • Empty trash cans and dispose of waste in designated disposal areas.
  • Perform basic repairs, such as fixing broken fixtures, changing light bulbs, and reporting major repair needs.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Clean and maintain carpets, floors, and tiles, including stripping, waxing, and buffing as necessary.
  • Ensure that all flooring is in a safe condition (e.g., removing slippery substances from the floor to avoid accidents).
  • Follow safety protocols for handling cleaning chemicals and materials.
  • Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Ensure that all areas comply with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:
 
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment like vacuums, floor buffers, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and staff.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Time Management: Efficient in completing cleaning tasks within assigned time frames.
