GCHS is looking for a full time Medical Records Coder who is a detail-oriented individual who will play a crucial role in translating patient medical information from documentation into standardized codes for billing and record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance with health care regulations.  This position will code and abstract patient medical records using a standardized coding system.

Responsibilities
  • Examine patient charts, reports, and other medical documents to identify relevant information
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of medical records.
  • Identify and report any missing or incomplete documentation.
  • Assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments using coding systems like ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Coding certification preferred 
  • Works well in environment with firm deadlines; results oriented
  • Excellent analytical skills required
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skill
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
