ABOUT THE ROLE
Position Summary
As the Special Assistant to the Executive Director, you will provide high-level administrative and strategic support to the Executive Director (ED) to enhance organizational efficiency and impact. In this role, you must have exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will act as a liaison between the ED and internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities 
  1. Executive Support:
    • Support the management the ED’s calendar, appointments, and travel arrangements. 
    • Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and other materials
    • Provide timely reminders of deadlines and deliverables. 
    • Assist with prioritizing tasks and managing workflows.
  2. Liaison and Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for communication on behalf of the ED. 
    • Facilitate communication between the ED and staff, board members, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Draft and review correspondence and communication materials.
  3. Project Management:
    • Support the ED in managing organizational initiatives and special projects. 
    • Monitor progress, track outcomes, and report on project performance. 
    • Research and compile information for decision-making and strategic planning.
  4. Board and Leadership Support:
    • Coordinate board and committee meetings, including preparing agendas, minutes, and follow-ups.
    • Assist with board engagement and governance activities.
  5. Operational and Administrative Support:
    • Maintain organized records and filing systems.
    • Oversee logistical planning for events and meetings involving the ED. 
    • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; ideally in public administration, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an administrative or strategic support role.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit operations and an understanding of Elev8 Baltimore’s mission and values.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working in education, youth development, or community-based programs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and social justice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to dynamic environments.
Work Environment
  • The position requires occasional evening or weekend hours for events and board meetings. Regional travel within mid-Atlantic may be necessary.
Compensation:
$70,000 annually including benefits.
