This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Ute Trail Leadership Camp Manager is responsible for the summer ministries of Sigma Senior and Ute Trail Work Crew. This position develops and coordinates summer programming and will also assist in summer staff recruiting efforts. The Ute Trail Leadership Camp Manager will serve in Texas as a member of the Summer Recruiting Team while being a member of the leadership team of Ute Trail assisting with the development and achievement of our strategic objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, coordinate, organize, execute and oversee the execution Sigma Senior and Work Crew at Ute Trail in Colorado.
- Work with Leadership Camp Managers as a part of the overall Life Map, including year-round programming events in Texas.
- Develop, lead, and carry out recruiting efforts for summer ministry teams for all sites.
- Coordinate hiring process between HR and Summer Recruiting Teams.
- Manage, lead and assist with training, scheduling, organizing, and executing summer camp for our summer leadership teams (Managers and COR).
- Develop and enforce childcare standards which create the most safe and effective ministry environments possible.
- Provide organization with up-to-date research on the culture of our campers, their families, and the direction of ministry in our target areas.
- Study and understand what is cutting-edge and most effective in current ministry practices.
- Support Colorado camps with staffing updates.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain compliance with Sky Ranch’s employee policies and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the camp industry.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of three years of related experience in camp ministry.
KNOWLEDGE
- In-depth understanding of the field of camping and/or family ministry
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Basic internet and social media skills.

- Excellent leadership skills necessary to appropriately influence people to achieve a desired outcome.
- Ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings to include but not limited to guests (youth and families), clergy and staff of various Christian churches and organizations of all sizes, cultural identities and worship styles, co-workers, and peers.
- Proven successful leadership experience; ability to build unity amongst a team and motivate them to work together toward a common mission.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and relationship building skills. Ability to plan, manage, and report budgets proficiently. Exceptional financial management skills.
- Ability to provide strategic and logistical planning and facilitate meetings, conferences, workshops, and/or retreats as required.
- Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
- Ability to prepare moderately complex reports.
- Ability to exercise independent thinking and initiative.
- Ability to deal with complex situations or issues and make effective, timely and appropriate decisions.
- Excellent organizational skills: ability to multi-task and manage a variety of tasks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate the vision of Sky Ranch to both internal and external customers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Some physical effort required. Ability to use up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. During summer months, ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination
- Requires constant physical agility during the summer months, including but not limited to: bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; crawling under desks; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladder.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Works indoors in normal office environment about 8 months of the year; works indoors and outdoors the other time, exposed to seasonal weather elements.
- Work will require occasional overnight travel, some travel by car and/or plane, and weekend and/or evening work.

Must demonstrate annually a clear background check and review of child safety practices as required for camp accreditation by the American Camping Association.
