POSITION PURPOSE
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing agency cash disbursements, along with providing administrative and clerical support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing agency cash disbursements, along with providing administrative and clerical support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Review purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy
- Process purchase requisitions accurately and promptly
- Process check runs in coordination with Accountant and Controller
- Compile documentation and research vendor/department questions and requests
- Scan and file documentation
- Assist tenants making rental payments
- Process department requests for client assistance (bus passes, gas card, etc.) and keep spreadsheet updated
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly, accurately, and in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Support any function of accounting department as requested
- Perform other related duties as required
- Develop subject matter expertise on cash disbursement process ensuring purchase requisitions are completed in compliance with agency policies and procedures
- Assist with monthly closing reconciliation (Benefits, AP, Insurance, Prepaid & Petty Cash)
- Keep updated Vendor Suspension & Debarment list
- Accurate processing of 1099s annually
- Assists in the preparations for annual audits
- Maintain positive relationship with vendors address inquires and resolve payment related issues promptly
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of accounts payable and basic accounting skills required
- Team player delivering excellent customer service
- High School diploma or GED required, two years related experience
- QuickBooks experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Teams and Outlook
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills, including conflict resolution
- Demonstrate cultural competence, treat everyone with dignity, celebrate the diversity of our community, and be inclusive of all people in our community.
- Possess valid Arizona driver’s license, clear driving record and personal vehicle insurance coverage
- 21 years of age or older for liability insurance requirements
- Must obtain a fingerprint clearance card through the State of Arizona
- Eligible to work in the United States of America

- Be familiar with Save the Family’s service population, including diverse cultural and socioeconomic characteristics

- Able to proficiently read and write the English language
- Must be highly organized, able to work independently and in a team environment
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, being able to create, format and manage spreadsheets required

Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
