Position Summary / Essence of the Role:
The essence of the Technical Alignment Engineer is to develop a technical relationship with the customer. This is achieved by developing a deep understanding of the customer’s technology environment, implementing best practices, and understanding the business impact thereof. To achieve excellence in this role, the Technical Alignment Engineer will need to have a passion for learning, setting, and implementing technology best practices. Furthermore, they must understand the business impact of implementing standards and find their satisfaction in making people’s lives / businesses better through well implemented and efficient technology.
The TAE performs periodic best practice reviews on all of their assigned customers. The result is a technical alignment report that shows where the customer is out of step with best practices and the impact that it has on their business. The TAE then works very closely with the vCIO to determine the most impactful best practices for each of their customers. The TAE is responsible for continually reviewing and implementing best practices for their assigned customers. A successful TAE can be described as an evangelist for standards and alignment for both customers and team members.

Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, Field of Study: IT or related technical field
Experience:
· 5 years previous experience in a technical role
Certifications & Licenses:
· IT industry certifications are preferred, specifically Microsoft
Skills:
· Strategic level knowledge of technology infrastructure, networks, connectivity, security, and common business software applications.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to read, comprehend, type and speak English clearly on the phone
· Ability to type 50+ words per minute
· Some lifting of PC and server equipment
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
