Shift 2p - 10p - Inpatient Unit
Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or delegate, assists in the planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating the activities in the department by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area.
- Performs required clerical work relating to the admission, transfer and discharge of a patient.
- Keeps medical record complete and in order. Adds order sheets and progress notes. Ensures all parts of the medical record are properly identified by patient label.
- Keeps unit supplied with all necessary stationary and other supplies at all times. Participates in economical utilization of supplies and equipment and orders supplies as necessary with cost awareness.
- Assists nurses by picking up and delivering, specimens, medications, charts, requisitions, etc. to different departments as requested.
- Provides assistance to staff in the organized workflow of daily unit operations.
- Responds to patient and visitor inquiries/comments, referring to appropriate personnel as indicated.
- Transport patients in wheelchair or conveyance to locations within facility.
- Comply with facility Standards of Behavior and complete all required education assignments within the designated timeline.
