JOB SUMMARY

Perform accounting and clerical functions to support department.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare and process invoices to be paid.
  • Prepare and input timely payments for mortgages, vehicle notes, and leases.
  • Process vendor statements.
  • Weekly preparation and processing of accounts payable checks. 
  • Reconcile vendor statements to payments made and process accordingly.
  • Void checks & re-enter invoices for payment.
  • Maintain vendor files.
  • Assist in preparations for financial auditors.
  • Assist in preparation of cost reports and related audits.
  • Maintain vendor files for IRS reporting of 1099’s.
  • Punctual and regular attendance.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Controller.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/JOB KNOWLEDGE

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
  • Read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic accounting knowledge.
  • More than one year of experience in the accounting field.
  • Working knowledge of 10-key adding machine.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • The ability to learn additional systems as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Constantly moves about to coordinate work.
  • Regularly works in a fast-paced environment with multiple task deadlines.
  • Regularly moves and positions objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally exposed to viruses and infectious conditions.
  • Constantly alert and observant during working hours.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will not supervise.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • May be required to attend seminars or job-related training courses.
  • Must have the ability to maintain good working relationships with Evergreen staff and with contacts from other agencies or entities.
  • Must be able to prioritize work tasks. 

EMPLOYMENT VARIABLES

  • Must have a good driving record that meets the minimum requirements for Evergreen and reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which includes all shifts, including nights, days, and weekends.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace.
  • Aptitude to learn other software programs as required for this position.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • General office environment.
