Summary:
-To assist the classroom teacher in the direct care and supervision of the students in the classroom, in a safe, clean, and educationally stimulating environment
Multiple positions are available ranging from kindergarten through 22 years old. Classroom options range from academic, life skills, and vocational programs. Placement based on experience.
Qualifications:
Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED. Some college preferred.
Experience: A minimum of one year of classroom experience working with persons with behavioral modification preferred.
Required Credentials: Must have a valid Driver’s License. CPR/First Aid Certification is preferable but will train to obtain certification.
All employees must pass a background screening and drug test for employment.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. This position is very active and requires standing; walking; bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities:
Assist teacher in the implementation of daily lesson plans.
Prepare classroom materials.
Assist with the overall care of the students in the assigned classroom including toileting and other personal hygiene as needed.
Assist the teacher in classroom management including providing individualized instruction as needed, to individual students or small groups.
Drive school buses as assigned in a safe and timely manner.
Behavior management
Comply with Easterseals policies and procedures utilizing the highest standards of personal and professional ethics and behavior.
Demonstrate good judgment, diplomacy, courtesy, and effective communication while working at Easterseals or when representing the organization.
Other duties as assigned.

Compensation: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
