SUMMARY
The Child Care Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting and supporting school readiness and monitoring developmental outcomes while providing responsive caregiving and developmentally appropriate and inclusive learning experiences for enrolled children. The Child Care Assistant Teacher is also responsible for assisting the Teacher in creating and supporting a positive, high-quality early learning environment. The overall educational emphasis of the classroom is in alignment with the Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards; the Texas Early Learning Guidelines and PreK guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Articulating and demonstrating sound early childhood principles and best practices.
● Communicating effectively with children, families, and staff.
● Assisting in the implementation of lesson plans, routines, and curricula
● Demonstrating professionalism in decision-making and leadership.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
● At a minimum, a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential or enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate or baccalaureate degree or are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed with two years of the time of hire.
● High school diploma or GED required.
● Must be 18 years or older.
● Minimum of 24 months of classroom teaching experience in licensed Texas Child Care Center.
● Associates degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred.

Compensation: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
