Case Managers serves our guests and participants by providing the best and most appropriate internal and external service connections with an end goal of sustainable housing. Aftercare programs are incorporated in this role. Reports to the Manager of Case Management.

Hours of Availability:

Full-Time hours (40) with a Typical schedule between 9:00am - 5:00pm

Compensation: $DOE

Possess a genuine interest in the safety and well-being of our guests and team members.
Ability to engage with customers, guests, volunteers, and team members.
A basic knowledge of general sales and merchandising processes.
Willingness to exceed “Mission standard” expectations.
Strong work ethic & commitment; work as scheduled- include holidays/weekends as assigned.
Strong listening and communication skills to execute instructions and exhibit professionalism.
Strong organizational skills to assist with multi-tasking daily assignments and special projects.

Job Specific Qualifications:

Bachelors in Human Services or related field of study

Proven advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Advanced computer skills

Valid Driver’s License

Career Summary (does not include all responsibilities):

Case Managers are responsible for assisting the Case Management team with administrative duties to include electronic recordkeeping of guest information upon intake and as required, collection of data and reports provided to appropriate agencies/team members, guest intake process (as needed), assist guests by answering questions and helping with resources, participation in savings programs, referrals for job skills among other services. Attend internal and external training and conferences as assigned. Assist with clothing vouchers and transportation as needed.

Coordinate training activities and schedules, reserve rooms, prepare handouts. Provide ‘help desk’ assistance for the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).

All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the leadership/management. Expectation is to complete these assignments as requested.

Prolonged computer use; computer screen exposure
Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing
Occasional periods of standing, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling objects up to 50 pounds
Temperatures may vary depending on activity/events; indoor/outdoor exposure
Noise levels may vary depending on activity/event and/or location
Consistently - Communicating with others to exchange information; verbally and/or electronically
Frequent - Moving around to accomplish a task
Occasional – exposure to cleaning general chemicals

Since 1948, the Rescue Mission has continued a tradition of comprehensive care to those in crisis in our community. The homeless, the hungry, the chemically addicted, the impoverished and the hopeless have all found a warm welcome at the Rescue Mission.

The Rescue Mission is open 24 hours/day and 365 days/year and provides food, clothing, shelter, an on-site clinic, Recovery Program, case management, and aftercare services. In addition, the Rescue Mission operates a Donation and Recycling Center, 2^nd Helpings – Gallery and Shop, Thrift 460, and has an online store presence. All proceeds from sales benefit the programs of the Rescue Mission.
