 Bridge Tower is a vertically integrated owner-operator of Single Family and Build For Rent communities. We provide homes in urban core infill and suburban areas for families. Bridge Tower self-performs and our expertise includes acquisition, entitlement, development, construction, leasing, property management, and asset management for both SFR and Build-For-Rent. Bridge Tower constructs and delivers 400+ new homes per year. 

We are expanding and are ready to add a new Staff Accountant to our Dallas team. 
 
Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our corporate accounting department. The Staff Accountant’s responsibilities include preparing and recording journal entries, performing account reconciliations, assisting with duties related to audit and tax return preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. Necessary Skills & Knowledge:
  • Have a general knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as Cash Accounting
  • Basic understanding of the key differences between Cash & Accrual based accounting 
  • Possess the ability to review, parse and distill large amounts of data into intuitively summarized line items
  • Possess strong working knowledge of Excel (Pivot-tables, Vlookup, Filtering, Indexing, etc.)
  • Exhibit effective problem-solving skills, as well as taking a proactive role in developing,
    communicating, and implementing potential solutions
  • Ability to research and apply knowledge of evolving and/or unfamiliar accounting and finance
    concepts
  • Be able to communicate in a clear and composed manner via electronic, written, and/or verbal
    correspondence methods, appropriate for the situations to which they apply
  • Be detail-oriented, highly organized, able to manage tasks independently, and perform under
    tight deadlines
  • Experience or knowledge of real estate, property management, and/or mortgage lending a plus

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze pertinent transactional data sets and record journal entries which accurately reflect the transaction at hand
  • Record various types of Accounts Payable documents such as invoices, checks, and ACH
    payments
  • Perform periodic trial balance reconciliations and any relevant supporting statements and
    analyses
  • Coordinate with other departments in researching transactions as well as provide historical
    accounting information, as needed
  • Maintain small portfolio of escrow accounts for property owners and assist in the preparation
    and distribution of monthly operating statements
  • Assist with preparation of documents related to audits and tax preparation
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent work experience in property accounting).
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and cash basis accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to recognize task priorities, plan, and organize workload.

Compensation: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
